What is Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)?"
"EAP is a process where mental health professionals work with clients and horses in an experiential manner to help the clients learn about themselves and others, while processing or discussing the clients feelings, behaviors and or patterns. The goal is to help the client in social, emotional, cognitive or behavioral ways."
TRINITY COUNSELING ALSO OFFERS A "MINI-VERSION" OF EAP
If working with a full sized 1,100 pound horse isn't quite for you, we also offer a version of the EAP program using our certified miniature horses.
This program also is held in San Juan Capistrano and has very limited availability. If you would like more information, click here.
Trinity Counseling is pleased to announce the opening of the Trinity Equine Therapy Program.
Equine assisted therapy has been used by medical professionals over the past decades. It encompasses a range of treatments that involve activities with horses to promote human physical and mental health.
For individuals looking to partner with a full size horse, we offer a one hour (1) EAP "Equine Assisted Psychotherapy" session held in San Juan Capistrano. Therapy sessions include; grooming, handling, riding if desired (and suitable) and post event processing.
EAP sessions are conducted by Amanda Wood, Ph. D. and are held twice monthly (sessions are held on either a Saturday or a Monday afternoon).
As only four sessions are available per month, please contact Amanda if you are interested.
